Lightweight Weld Scanner
The scanner is made with an aluminium chassis, anodised and gun coated for extra durability. The probe holder’s width can be adjusted to accept most standard ultrasonic probes and wedges. Only basic tools are required. The encoder is built into the body of the scanner and driven by one of the wheels. This also protects the encoder from everyday wear and tear.

Contact to the scanning surface is maintained through magnetic wheels and rubber tires, allowing ease of use on both ferritic and non-ferritic surfaces. All wheel’s run-on stainless-steel bearings, and with little maintenance should last a lifetime.

Compatibility
Most ultrasonic and eddy-current machines are compatible with the WeldBuddy. The only requirement is a single encoder input. The scanner comes fitted with an encoder output on a 1.5m lead, with an HD 15 pin D-type connector, and can fit most machines with an adaptor cable. Adaptor cables available at an additional cost.
