New Product Arrival - Wagner Moisture Meters for wood and concrete
Wagner Meters are an established well known moisture meter manufacturer from Oregon, USA.
Established in the 1960's by Delmer Wagner, who was invovled with measuring moisture in lumber in sawmills, had identified that contact moisture detectors were hard to use, hard to calibrate, and hard to interpret. Delmer developed the first in-line moisture detector using transisits for the Redmond Sawmill, which was smaller and more compact than traditional detectors. It is also proved more reliable, and easier to calibrate. Due to it's sucsess of this newly-designed moisture detector, the mill took out a patent on his device. The 1970's, with the additon of Delmer's son Ed to the organisation, saw further development of non-contact sideways and end-to-end moisture sensors for quickly determining the moisture content of large quantities of wood. This saw, in 1980, the first "Pin-less" moisture meter invented - the L600. This technology saw the developemnt of smaller hand-held pinless meters for the wood flooring, general timber and woodworking markets, ideal for general users and wood flooring customers where quick scanning of wood was needed. In the 2000s, Wagner combined with CTLGroup to develop the Rapid RH®, an in-situ relative humidity testing system for concrete, which won the Most Innovative Product” awards at the World of Concrete (WOC) in 2006, a feat repeated in 2013 at the same event by the Rapid RH® DataMaster. Celebrating 50 years in 2015, Wagner Meters included four company divisions - Flooring, Building Inspection, Forest Products Industry and Woodworking. In 2018, Wagner introduced the Orion® Series of pinless electronic wood moisture meters. The Orions were the first wood moisture meters with the exclusive capability to be field calibrated by the end. The Orion's quickly became a stable go to meter for industry professionals. The 2023 introduction of Floor Sentry exemplifies Wagner Meters’ ongoing progress in moisture measurement technology. This embedded wood floor data logger effortlessly monitors wood floor and subfloor conditions, alerting users to potential moisture issues through temperature and humidity tracking via the Wagner Sentry app.
